  • Tuesday, October 6 – Theology on Tap. Faith in Times of Trouble.  We all face those moments when the events of life can overwhelm us – grief, loss, transition, uncertainty.  These are often times when our faith waivers.  Tonight Fr. Terry Dumas will share his reflections and wisdom on this topic.
  • Monday, October 12 – Theology on Tap. The Mysteries of Underground Rome. Are the remains of St. Peter really directly below the center of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica?  And what about St. Paul?  Was he really found this summer?  Rome, the Eternal City, holds many mysteries, many of which are found well below the familiar churches, ruins, and fountains.  Fr. Jim will give us this unique opportunity to discover more of the fascinating story of what is below Rome.
  • Monday, October 19 – Theology on Tap. Women in the Church.  Women have always been deeply involved in the Church.  The discussion arises when we begin to look at the specific roles.  When have women pushed the Church to see new ways to live the faith? What is the role of women in the Church in the past, present, & future.  Nancy Joseph from the Diocese of Lansing’s office of Lay Ecclesial Ministry will be speaking.
  • Tuesday, October 27 – Theology on Tap. Deliverance: Faith and the Supernatural. Halloween is just around the corner.  All the scary movies fill the airwaves and cable channels.  Many talk of demons, hauntings, and what happens after this life.  Tonight we will look at what our faith has to say about all these things.

All Theology on Taps take place at Arbor Brewing Co (114. E. Washington) in downtown Ann Arbor.  We begin the night at 7 pm and conclude by 9:00 pm.

stations4_gallery__600x386This Sunday we are offering a special way to begin Holy Week – We will be projecting the Living Stations of the Cross that were presented in Sydney for the 2008 World Youth Day on a large screen in the church.

Join us at 7:00 pm for this unique event.

With reflections and prayers by everyone from the Pope to Aboriginal leaders to other noted Australian Catholics it is a way to deepen and challenge your faith and understanding of the Passion narratives.  With the stations acted out by very gifted Australian actors it is a moving and faith-filled rendition of a time honored prayer.

We hope to see you this Sunday, April 5, at 7:00 pm in the church.

Next Tuesday is our Mardi Gras Potluck!  Bring a dish to share.  It is a purely social night, so come ready to enjoy the company or some games.

Accordingly, next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday.  The St. Francis masses are at 7:00 am, 9:15 am, 5:15 pm, and 7:00 pm.

Tuesday, March 3 – Pizza!  Yes, I’m bribing you with pizza.  The parish is in the starting phases of the pastoral planning for the next 5 years.  We need to take a look at how you think the ministry has been doing the past few years and where you’d like to see us go in the next 5 years.  Please RSVP for the night by noon on Tuesday, March 3.

On Wednesday, March 4 we start the Lenten series – Lenten Series: Praying All Ways.  Join us at 7:00 pm for a Lenten series.  We will meet in the youth room.  You’ve likely heard of the theory of multiple intelligences.  Have you ever considered how that might apply to prayer?  Over the weeks of Lent we are going to look at all the creative and unusual ways you can pray according to where your ‘intelligences’ lie.  The sessions will all be quite interactive and reflective.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
